How transport will impact businesses in 2023

With recent cuts to public transport funding and the cost of living crisis, there has never been a more crucial time to reevaluate how we utilise transport.

Shared shuttle provider RideTandem is helping to change how employers and staffing agencies utilise transport, leveraging the many benefits that an effective transport strategy can have.

For many employers, the way in which their talent get to & from work is not at the forefront of day-to-day thinking or planning, but it should be!

Speaking to the Director of Business Development at RideTandem, Oliver Pilsbury-Gaunt, he says:

“Over the past few years, we’ve seen RideTandem grow to be the transport provider of choice for both employers and staffing agencies, this is not only because of our team’s fantastic 24/7 service, but also because of the impact that great transport and commuting has on businesses and their employees.

We’ve seen businesses that, thanks to the implementation of a well run transport strategy, were able to attract more talent, be more competitive and boost their sustainability efforts.

RideTandem Shuttles are a great way to attract new talent, improve the well-being and retention of current team members, whilst also boosting the sustainability efforts of your company”.

Expanding on Oliver’s point, the commute has the following impact on businesses and their employees:

  • The quality of a commute can significantly impact the employee’s wellbeing
  • The price of a commute can also impact the employee’s financial situation
  • Transport links (or a lack thereof) can impact a company’s ability to recruit and retain talent from within and beyond the local area
  • The commuting style of a team can hinder or boost a company’s sustainability efforts.

It is therefore clear that looking forward into 2023, HR departments could leverage what is currently an underserved and often unnoticed segment of both an employer’s well-being plan as well as their recruitment strategies by providing transport for their talent in the form of a shared shuttle service – benefiting the company and reflecting well on the HR department.
