The Chartered Management Institute (CMI) has introduced two new apprenticeship schemes which aim to contribute a ‘range of options’ for productivity boosting investment in the next generation of managers.
Backed by the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS), the schemes have been created by 30 employers led by Serco and Civil Service Learning and provide professional qualifications for team leader and operations manager roles; further adding to the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship that was launched in November last year.
Director of strategy at CMI, Petra Wilton, commented: “The current funding regime gives employers an unprecedented chance to train tomorrow’s leaders, with the launch providing multiple entry points to suit future managers no matter where they may be on their career path. We know that investment in the next generation of managers is more than repaid by the productivity gains they deliver.”
