CASE STUDY: How Lowell digitised its employee benefits with 4me

Lowell, one of Europeโ€™s largest credit management and litigation firms, recognised they needed a new approach to employee benefits in order to attract and keep talented people in a highly competitive market. They partnered with Barnett Waddingham to discover the solutions they needed, all while staying within the existing budget.ย 

The challengeย 

Following an employee engagement survey, Lowell found that their benefits programme was failing to meet people’s needs โ€“ with a lack of desirable choices and low awareness of what was on offer.ย 

The company knew that providing good employee benefits that people really want is one way to gain a competitive advantage in the search for attracting and retaining talent. Another key consideration was Lowellโ€™s diverse population across gender, age range and ethnicity. The company wanted a range of benefits that would appeal to all.ย 

The solutionย 

Barnett Waddingham carried out a full market review and a rebroke exercise of all Lowellโ€™s employee benefits, which helped generate savings to fund other areas of the project, such as the employee engagement strategy developed with DrumRoll, our in-house creative agency.ย 

A new engagement platform based on 4me โ€“ our digital employee benefits programme โ€“ was developed, incorporating the company’s specific requirements and branding, named Lowell4me.ย ย 

The new platform needed to be:ย 

  • A consumer-grade experience for employeesย ย 
  • Easy-to-use and hassle freeย ย 
  • Accessible from multiple devicesย ย 
  • Flexible with lots of choiceย ย 
  • Personalised and inclusiveย ย 
  • Simple to configureย
